The Best Chocolate Sauce

My mom's recipe, which was a staple growing up. It's still my favorite chocolate sauce--I could eat it with a spoon! (...and I do)



 

what you'll need:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 1/2 cup butter

  • 13 oz evaporated milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1/4 cup Kahlua

yields: 2 cups

total cook time: 30 minutes

 

instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, combine powdered sugar, chocolate chips, butter, and evaporated milk. Cook over medium heat until the mixture gradually comes to a boil. Stir frequently so that the bottom does not burn.

  2. Once boiling, add vanilla and Kahlua. Continue cooking and stirring constantly for an additional 3 minutes.

This sauce holds up well in the refrigerator and is best served warm.
